Behind every successful Business Decision, there is always a CMA

Legal

Terms of Service

Effective 31 July 2026. By using Tax Companion's Studio or public site, you agree to these terms.

The service

Tax Companion provides citation-first research, drafting, and analytics tools for direct-taxation practitioners — Tax GPT, Tax Calculator, Notice Wizard, Knowledge Base, and related Studio modules. It surfaces cited sources to support your work; it does not replace the professional judgment of a qualifiedCMA/CS.

Professional responsibility

Final sign-off on any filing, opinion, computation, or notice response remains with the practitioner of record. Tax Companion is a research and productivity aid, not a substitute for independent professional review.

Accounts

You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide and for safeguarding your account credentials. Firm admins are responsible for the access levels they grant to team members under their organization.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service — no attempts to bypass security controls, no uploading of content you don't have the right to share, no use of the platform to generate advice you know to be misleading, and no reverse engineering of the underlying models or infrastructure.

Client data & confidentiality

Documents and data you upload remain yours. We process them only to provide the service and never use client PII to train models. See our Privacy Policy and DPDP Act, 2023 page for handling details.

Subscriptions & billing

Paid plans are billed per the cycle and terms shown at checkout on the Pricing page. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period.

Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Planned maintenance and incident history are posted on the Status page.

Limitation of liability

The service is provided on an "as is" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tax Companion is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from reliance on outputs without independent professional verification.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these terms. Firm admins may terminate their subscription at any time from Settings.

Changes to these terms

We will post material changes here with an updated effective date, and notify firm admins by email for changes affecting billing or data handling.
